Aref Herbawi, currently the Dean of the Continuing Vocational Education and Training at Palestine Polytechnic University (DCVET-PPU). Mr. Herbawi holds a B.Sc. in Engineering, and currently doing his MBA. Moreover; Aref holds a Diploma in Business & Management through a USAID funded Programme, and recently finalized the International Programme on Institutional Planning & Management of Educational Institutions through the Government of India.

Mr. Herbawi has 15+ years’ professional experience in Project Management, MEL, ISO & Quality Management Systems, Proposal Writing & Fundraising, Strategic Planning & Development, TVET, Training & Capacity Building, Business Development, Industry and SME's Development, Resource Efficient Consumption & Production (RECP), Energy Management, International Cooperation, Sustainable Development, Networking & Community Services.

During his career lifetime, Mr. Herbawi could have successfully leverage funds and grants for 50+ developmental projects of $8 million+. He has been also a Project Manager and Team Leader for 45+ Projects funded by variety of International NGO’s. Furthermore; Herbawi has not only been working as an ISO Lead auditor and Trainer, but also he has been fully responsible for the build and QA/QC of different ISO management Systems.

On the level of Consulting Expertise, Aref has been working as an Expert, Consultant, Trainer, Mentor and Advisor in Human, Social and Economic Empowerment and Capacity Development, with a variety of Local and International Organizations such as: EU, ISO Training Academy, GIZ, UNIDO, Cologne Chamber of Commerce, Palestine Investment Fund, Hebron LET Council, Ministry of Awqaf, Ministry of Telecommunications & Information Technology, PSI, Dura Municipality, Al-Jebrini Group, and the Palestinian Federation of Chambers of Commerce.

Mr. Herbawi participated in different regional and international study tours and workshops in Jordan, Indonesia, Italy, Austria, Spain, Germany, Canada and USA. He has published 5+ Research Papers in Innovation, Community, Quality, CSR, Energy Management, Cooperation with Industry, Plastic Technology, Energy Saving & PFC.

Aref is a member in different Local and International Organizations including: GIZ Global Campus, UNEVOC, HLETC, DARPE, PTA, PNGO’s, Development Aid, ISO Global Directory, Global PMB, PSI, EU Experts Network, Engineers Association & Engineers Training Center.

On the level of future plan, Aref is seeking to have a Regional / International opportunity in a very senior- challenging position in the context of SDG's and International Cooperation.
