Ali Ramadan
Ali Ramadan is the Director of the Center of Excellence in Entrepreneurship and Business Incubation at Palestine Polytechnic University (PPU), and one of the leading contributors to the development of the entrepreneurship and innovation ecosystem in Palestine. He brings more than 18 years of experience in higher education, systems development, entrepreneur empowerment, and the design of innovation and intellectual property programs within academic institutions.
Ali holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Al-Quds University – Abu Dis (2003) and a Master’s degree in Computer Studies from Amman Arab University (2005). In 2006, he began his academic career as a lecturer at Palestine Polytechnic University, where he taught courses in databases, information security, and software systems analysis.
In 2007, he was assigned to develop the university’s digital systems within the Programming Unit at the Fawzi Kawash Center for Excellence, a role he continued until 2011. During this period, he authored a comprehensive Arabic textbook on information security systems in 2009, ISBN: 978-9950-8502-7-9, which was adopted and taught at two Palestinian universities.
The year 2011 marked a major turning point in his career when he became the Director of the PPU Business Incubator. Since then, he has overseen and contributed to dozens of national and regional initiatives and competitions, in addition to supervising the incubation of more than 250 startup companies through the university’s incubation programs. In partnership with PICTI, MEPI, PIF, Mercy Corps, BTC, UNDP, Berzit University, World Vision, Action Aid, Hebron chamber of commerce, SPARK ignites ambition and SWITCHMED…etc.
He is an active member of the Business Mentors Network, a regular judge in entrepreneurship competitions, a certified trainer in Green Entrepreneurship from the European Union, and a certified business simulation trainer from the International Labour Organization (ILO).
In 2018, he represented Palestine Polytechnic University at the Mohammed bin Rashid Award for Young Business Leaders in Dubai, where the university received the title of Best University Supporting and Incubating Entrepreneurship in the Arab World, recognizing its achievements during the preceding three years.
In recent years, Ali has become a key reference in designing specialized training programs in business models, marketing and sales, and financial management. He has also developed advanced content in intellectual property, digital social innovation, innovation economics, and internal policies for managing intellectual assets within companies and incubators.
He has participated in prominent global and regional events such as the Arab SME Summit, the “Ruwad” Conference in Qatar, and the Mediterranean Innovation Agrifood Week in Italy. and the 5TH GLOBAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP SUMMIT GES2014, Marrakesh, Morocco. He has represented the university and its incubator in international platforms aimed at strengthening the competitiveness of Palestinian entrepreneurship and connecting it with global networks in Barcelona, Istanbul, Indonesia, India, the UAE, Qatar, Egypt, Tunisia, and Morocco.
Ramadan holds a series of specialized Training in the field of entrepreneurship and innovation from several local and international destinations, he was a certified Build Your Business (BYB) Trainer, Certified Green Entrepreneurship Trainer and Mentor from SwitchMed Barcelona, Certified Business Incubation Management (infoDev - World Bank) , also he attend a training course with title” Promoting Innovations & Entrepreneurship through Incubation- EDI of India, Ahmedabad”, also he attend another Training course in Indonesia with title ”Information & Communication Technology Support for Palestinian SMEs Development- Bandung Institute Of Technology”, In addition to training in Training of Trainers (ToT), Technology Commercialization Trough Incubation Programs and Increasing the deal-flow of your Innovation-based Incubator- The European Business and Innovation Center (EBN).
Ali continues his mission of empowering Palestinian youth through initiatives such as the Entrepreneurship Ambassadors Program, as well as technical and entrepreneurial workshops. He also contributes to the development of the business incubator’s digital presence and institutional identity, and actively builds partnerships with international organizations including UNESCWA, WIPO, UNESCO, and AICC.
